How is this done?
How would I go about creating this type of mograph, in which a line animates along a complex 3d path. There are quite a few similar projects which I’ve seen which incorporate pics/video along the path, and then morph into a Title. Any links to tutorials would be appreciated as well.

If you don’t need much control over the 3D path then trapcode 3d stroke can do it I believe. It can twist mask paths into 3D space.
For full control and distortion of pictures text etc along a path that you can fully define in 3D space – use a 3D application instead of AE.
