I’ve seen a number of adds saying something about Sound Forge being integrated, but on reading, its hard to tell what they mean for sure.

    For example:
After setting SF as the Vegas’ Audio editor, can you then send parts of the sound track on the timeline to SF and save it back to the vegas timeline?

I mean in the way that Adobe Audition and Premiere are integrated where you can do like above.

To answer your first part, most definitely yes. It’s only a right click on your Audio, Select Open in Sound Forge and you’re done.

To answer your second – dunno, don’t have the s/w so I can’t offer an opinion.

After working on the file in SF, do a “Save As” to ensure that it gets added as a take back in Vegas.
Doing a straight “Save” overwrites the original audio and you want to avoid doing that.

To avoid the “save as” detail, right click and chose “open copy in sound forge”. This allows you to not change the original file and work on a different, new copy of the wave file.

But it appears that there is a bug. When I open a copy in Sound Forge, edit it, and try to save it: I get an error from Sound Forge saying that it can’t save the file… I have to TAB back to Vegas, then back to Sound Forge before I can save the file… It’s very annoying and time wasting. Apparently Vegas is hanging onto ownership of the sound file copy and won’t let go until it has focus again.

Anyone know how to prevent this problem?

This is still happening with Vegas 12. Does anyone know a solution? It’s very irritating.
