How get “cymatics” render like Chladni Plate

Hello,

I would like to get a cymatic (chladni plate, experiment sound) effect on After Effects.

I tried with Particular but I don’t get this “sand” effect, do you have advices / ideas to get this render please ?

I think I would use a shape layer with a path on it. I’d then keyframe the path to change shape.

Then I’d use either CC Ball Action or Scatterize to make the paths look like sand.
