    Noah,

I’m on the verge of purchasing an HMC150, but the one thing I went to ask was regarding the color red. I do a lot of band coverage, and they love their red which tends to artifact pretty badly with DV and HDV. How does the HMC150 hold up with bright reds?

    Richard-

There’s not a video camera in the world that likes the color red- that’s just a cardinal rule of video. 🙂 The HMC150 is no better or worse than any other camera I’ve ever seen. I personally don’t think it will be a major issue but if you get one say from Amazon.com or Abel Cine or B&H you can always return it within 30 days if it becomes a serious problem.

Another thing you can do is order a color compensating filter if you see red as being a color used a lot on a show. For example a diffusion filter, a polarizing filter or an 82A or 82B can help a lot:

    It’s a 72mm mount on the 150 btw.
