how does rendering and Audio-Video Settings in FCP impact exported files
Hello. I was just wondering how rendering and Audio-Video Settings in FCP impacted exported files. I am asking this because a client when trying to dump to tape was having artifacts in his output. I made sure the av settings, seq settings, and material were the same codec and all went well—artifacts gone. This makes complete sense.
The client was having the same artifacts appear in his MPEG2s he generated through compressor to burn to dvds. I haven’t jumped in to trouble shoot this yet, but I was wondering how sequence settings and AV settings impact exports? If codecs of material and sequence do not match will the system render so they match and then export? Do sequence settings trump clip’s codecs on export? I noticed a sequence becomes unrendered when exporting.
Just trying to understand a little more about how FCP thinks.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
