How does one mute and solo audio in the Source Monitor? That is to audition a discreet track on the Source / playback side, that is not yet in the Timeline.

    Thanks,

    Paul

I’m working off a 8 ch split track master and would also like to make a sub-clip that is just one trk derived from this Multi-trk Qt master

When you have the source window selected the audio mixer tab should only work for the clip currently in the source window.

Thanks, I thought that but the mixer seems stuck reflecting the solo situation on the Pgm side. I got it to work by tearing off that Mix panel to make it a new window.

So that works for monitoring but not (it seems) fro making sub clips with 1 or 2 tracks from the original 8.

In Avid the selected tracks define the sub clip
