  • How do you see what’s outside of the comp window

Is there a way to see what’s outside of your comp window without increasing the window size? I’m masking an object that moves in sync with another layer, but when it goes outide of my window and into the gray area I can’t match up my layers to make a smooth movement. Is there a way to see what is beyond the window?

The area around the edges of the comp window is called the pasteboard.

You could use a 3d “custom view” with a wider angle of view or …

… make a new comp and nest the original comp inside it. Shrink the comp within the new comp, and enable “collapse transformations” so you can see the stuff that was on the pasteboard. Place the two comp windows side-by-side when working.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks, but is there a button or menu item that would just let me see the layer as it moves onto the pasteboard?
