How do you mix HD and SD footage on the same timeline?

The majority of my footage was shot with the HVX200 in 720p, but I have several clips that are SD. Do I start with a 720×480 timeline and scale down the HD footage manually to fit in the SD timeline, or do I export the HD footage as D1/DV Widescreen and then edit that footage with the SD footage on a 720×480 timeline?

The final video will be shown on a SD TV.

Please help soon! Project due date is arriving.

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

I prefer using the HDV in the SD sequence so I can pan and scan around as required. Sometimes just scaling it is fine. But more often, I like to use the best part of the frame. Of course, this means you have to render. So if you are using everything as is, export it to SD DV AVI and use it without having to rendewr all of the time.
