How do you enlarge Video Track 2 or 2 in Premiere timeline
Posted by David Fuku on April 3, 2012 at 5:02 amHi group, I know this is stupid but I cannot figure out how to enlarge any tracks in the timeline other than track #1. I am referring to the height not the enlarge slider on the bottom.
On track #1 you simply grab the bar and move it up but I cannot do that in 2-3 etc…
Thanks so much, David

April 3, 2012 at 4:30 pmYou need to “twirl open” the little triangle (collapse- expand track) to expand the tracks first, then grab the top of the video track and pull them up.

April 3, 2012 at 11:07 pmYou can go to your Keyboard Shortcuts and map Increase Video Tracks Height and Decrease Video Tracks Height to your keyboard. You can also map Increase Audio Tracks Height and Decrease Video Tracks Height.
Note, however, that it will only work if the track is twirled down. If it’s not twirled, it doesn’t resize.

April 4, 2012 at 2:20 amMichael, thank you so much!!! Coming from FCP is taking a bit longer than I thought… I’m starting to get used to Premiere hope it gets better in CS6..
You’re a savior!!!

April 4, 2012 at 2:33 amGlad to be of help. I’m most comfortable on Avid, worked on FCP for a while, and am now working my way though Premiere. I just discovered the Increase/Decrease Tracks about two days ago. It’s a deeper program that I initially thought, and I expect CS6 to be a decent advancement too (hopefully it will focus on improving the core editing efficiencies of the app). Maybe it’ll debut at NAB?
