  • How do you draw with brush strokes outside the size/limits of a video?

Posted by Daniel Haskett on April 22, 2005 at 3:24 pm

    Hi

Basiscally I have been tracing a walk cycle of a man who walks across a screen, however when he gets to edge of the screen and walks off I want to draw the last few frames of his body completely. But because he walks offscreen it wont allow me to draw any brushstrokes outside the bounds of the video. Basically I want to make up the last few frames, draw a bit extra than what you dont see on the screen, but it wont allow me to draw outside the video…?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    Dan

Why don’t you just create a layer that’s bigger than video and paint onto that?

If you are trying to create a endless canvas, which that what it sounds like. What you do Is just use the offset effect. In the Trish and Chris Meyer books they cover that in detail.

If I create another layer when I draw on it how can I see the video layer though? When you use paint mode on a layer you can only see that layer…or is there a way of seeing the other layers in the compoisition?

    thanks
