How Do You BLACK ENCODE a tape on a DVW-A500???

Make sure machine is in preset, and internal timecode. Push the Hold button to and press the reset at the counter. Reset timecode to what you want by using the Jog to move to the numbers you want to change. Hold down the search button and move the jog to change those numbers. Use just the jogger to move onto the next numbers when you’re done hit Set, and your ready to Record

Or easier yet, just enable the Edit To Tape window and hit the Black and Code button. Select a start time for the tape, drop or non-drop, and away you go.
