How do THEY do it…?
Hi there guys
First I’d like to thank the many times the COW saved my butt before. Seems like you come over here, get your info and rush back to work without any time to put the credit where it belongs: The COW rules!
Now… my question is: How do THEY do those neat opening sequences where the camera flyes from outter space into any street from any town, maybe going through a few clouds…? Can After effects do the trick? Or is it more of a 3D footage thing?
Any clues greatly appreciated

I think you’ll find that (other than using clouds to hide a transition) that a lot of the time it’s scaling into hi-res graphics very quickly with motion blur on so you don’t notice the change. Keying stuff fast enough with MB will hide a LOT of stuff.
Side note: My buddy did a spot where the cam was flying into a little world he made and the clouds were Particular. They looked fantastic and of course respect the 3D placement of an AE cam.
