  • How do I write out an AVI file in “Uncompressed RGB 24Bit” ?

    Hi,

    We just received specs requiring us to create:
    Video as an AVI file in “Uncompressed RGB 24 Bit”
    And Audio in “Uncompressed PCM 24Bit 48KHz”

    I have FCP 6.0.6, and I went to the Menu item under Export->Using QuickTime Conversion, and chose AVI.

    VIDEO
    ====
    Under Settings for Video, I chose:
    Compression type = None
    Frames per second = 23.98
    But I also see a section called Compressor (with options such as Thousands of Colors etc.) What should I set this to?
    Also, where do I specify RGB and 24 Bit?

    AUDIO
    ====
    Under Sound Settings, I chose:
    Compressor = None
    Rate = 48KHz
    Size = 16Bit
    Use = Stereo
    The question I have is: Is “Compressor = None” the same as PCM Uncompressed?

    Thanks in advance for your reply.

    Regards,
    Rajnesh

    Hi Rajnesh,
    The setting are OK.
    You need to export “Millions of Colors” unless you want to export an Alpha Channel.
    In that case you have to set it to “Millions+”.
    Cheers,
    Rafael
