How Do I Wrap a Video in MPEG2-TS for a Digital Sign?
I did a search, but none answered my question. One was from 2004, and the other got an answer to “use MPEG Streamclip.”
I am using that, but I don’t see an option for containing or wrapping a video in MPEG-2 TS (ver. 1.9.2 Mac).
I was instructed to deliver a video for a digital sign.
Request:
“The DMP supports MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, part 10, and need to be contained/wrapped in MPEG2-TS” – Client Request
I used Adobe Media Encoder CS4 from work
The only export that gives the TS option is MPEG2 Blu-ray
In the Settings, then Multiplexer tap, I selected “TS”
However, the client claims that their system cannot play this, aka, it doesn’t meet specs?So I’m going to be up all night (stressed) trying to figure this out.
At home, I have CS5, and am exporting now. But I don’t want to hand over another video that doesn’t meet specs. How can I make sure that it meets the above stated specs?

I installed the QT MPEG-2 encoder that you have to purchase (this was NOT on my system(s) before)
Now, from Media Encoder CS5, I did the following
Format: MPEG2
Multiplexing: TS
I think the rest is irrelevant. This may be the solution. What do you think?

Okay, after racking my brain, here’s the best I can do, and I hope this helps someone else…and I hope it works 🙂
1. I had to install the Apple MPEG-2 codec
2. Next when I exported from Adobe Media Encoder CS5, I got the options under Multiplexer to export a TS
3. After exporting a TS, I opened MPEG Streamclip, and with step 1 done, I could now get the Convert to TS options, so I converted to a TS with MPEG 2 audio (though my clip has no audio, but TS wasn’t an option in Media Encoder without checking audio)
Now I’ll see it if works for the client

MPEG-2 TS is a Transport Stream and usually contains muxed audio.
I’m not sure about your workflow though. It would seem Adobe Media Encoder CS5 doesn’t support the format from your description but I can’s say first hand. I use Telestream Episode Pro for Broadcast delivery.

I know this is an old post, but did you ever get it to work? I assume you were working with the Cisco signage system.
