  • How do I take a movie off a DVD to import it into Final Cut Pro?

I’m sure this is a basic question, but how do I rip a film off of DVD to be able to edit it in Final Cut Pro. I tried to take a VTS file and rename it with a mp4 extension, but that didn’t work. What is the best method for taking a film off of a DVD so you can edit it? I want to edit a PG version of Schindlers List for my church; thanks.

You want to rip copyrighted and protected media from a DVD? What you’re asking is wholly illegal. It’s a direct violation of Digital Millennium Copyright Act. To tell people how to do this is a violation of the DMCA. The whole web site could be shut down because of what you’re asking.

oops. I guess I should have read the whole post. All I read was the “how to you rip a DVD” part.

MPEG Streamclip, as far as I know, won’t rip copyrighted material anyway. But I’ll delete my post anyway.

That would be breaking the copyright aka breaking the law, and for a church.

I would segest that you purchase a ClearPlay DVD player
    https://www.clearplay.com/

    Hindsight is always 1080p
