how do I speed up clips more than + 4x in vegas 6.0
hey all,
i love this forum. such great advice all around.
so.. i’ve imported a very long clip that’s about 45 min minutes long that i’d like to speed up to 30 seconds or so. vegas seems to only be able to speed up 4 times max.
i also have a 4 min clip that i’d like to be around 10 seconds for a diff vid.
it’s a video of a sunset in case yr wondering. i’d like to speed it up ansdshow the dramatic effect of an NYC sunset. our smog give use such great colors in the winter.
so.. can i do this with vegas? i have soung forge 8.0 and tried speeding it up but it only seems to work with the audio. can i do this with out a plug in? if not is there a plugin i can get that can do this?

You CAN do it in Vegas but it would require velocity envelope and playback rate to max at 12X then render and do it again and again until you reach the desired time…OR you can get TIME BANDIT which will do the job in 1 pass and be done in just a couple of clicks and in very very short order.
If it were me, I’d definately use TIME BANDIT

the velocity curve! woah! awesome!
that really helped.
the only bummer about it is i wish the clip itself would shorten on the time line so i can see when it would actually end with its new speed.

When you appy the velocity envelope the end of the clip will show a “notch” at the top-pull the end to the notch an you should be set.
