I rendered my 1440×1080 footage at 1/8th its orginal size so it would be much faster to work with. When I finished my project, I thought I could simply use “replace footage” to bring back my good quality footage, but now my move and resize transforms are all misplaced. Thanks for your time and any help you can give me in this matter!

Set your original 1440×1080 file as a proxy to the downscaled ones, and render out with the setting “enable all proxies”

    Next time,
    work the other way around,
set the downscaled files as a proxy to the originals !!

What Jan says is correct. For now, you can try the Scale_comp javascript that comes installed with AE. It’s in AE’s application folder within a sub-folder called, Scripts. To rn it, select the comp from within the Project Panel (don’t forget to make a backup copy of the comp – so that you have the original as a reference) and run the Script from the Project Menu.

thanks jan and roland! i figured it had something to do with proxies! it’s just been a long time since i saw a lynda.com training video explaining how to use them.. and you saved me lots of time having to skim through all my training videos trying to find the answer to this.
