  • How do I restore from an “auto-saved” .bak?

Posted by Ken Plotin on May 12, 2005 at 4:25 am

Problem: Made a bunch of edit corrections and closed without saving (I thought I was closing Sound Forge…late night, big hurry). How can I restore the project from one of the “every 5 minute auto-saves? I get the “no file association” pop-up when I click on the .bak file.
Is this even the right file? The thin details in the manual only say that the autosave is in the temp directory you choose (I chose the project folder on my video drive).
I went into the Folder Options in control panel (Windows 2000), but adding the new file type doesn’t seem to help.
Any help here is really appreciated.

Rename the .veg.bak file to .veg.
