  • How do I physically delete a clip from within the FCP browser?

Posted by Elijah Lynn on September 14, 2009 at 2:30 pm

    Hi,

Is there a way, preferably with a keyboard shortcut, to delete a clip both from the browser and the physical disk from within the Final Cut Pro browser?

    Thanks,

    Elijah

Shift D. Makes clip offline. Choose to delete from disk.

Thank Steve! That is very helpful. Do you also know of a way to see which clips are being used in a project?

For instance, I have 6 takes I logged and I ended up choosing parts of 3 and 5 and now I don’t need the rest.

    Thanks

The way I would do it is to select everything in the current timeline, then choose MODIFY>LABEL and choose a color. All clips in your project will be changed to the color you choose – including used clips in the browser/bin – if it’s not your chosen color, it hasn’t been used in the timeline.
