  • How do I override the volume controls on the aluminum keyboard?

Posted by Simon Dybeck on August 27, 2008 at 2:13 pm

    Hi
I really have big problems with my new aluminum keyboard working with fcp 6 on a Mac with Leopard. I want to use my regular key commands as F10 and such but I just can’t because the volume controllers are there on the keyboard. I have tried everything in System Settings and final cut Keyboard Layout.
Please how do I override the volume control on the aluminum keyboard?
    Thank you very much

Open the Apple system prefs for the keyboard and turn on the switch to change the behavior of the pn button… i.e, it will have to be pushed when you want to use the volume controls, but not pressed when you want to use the F10 key to make an edit.

I am having the same problem, but can’t seem to override it. I am looking for the “use f1, f2, etc as standard keys.” in the keyboard settings but do not see it.
