How do I make snapshot images of chapters?
Posted by David Del on September 17, 2006 at 9:02 pmI want to make each chapter button into a snapshot of the beginning of the chapter (video image). How can I go about doing this?

September 18, 2006 at 7:42 amIf the Chapter starts at the first video frame, this will happen automatically – if not, select the button then under Buttion Properties / Media / Start Time on the right hand side, grab the Start Slider and you can have any frame showing in the button thumbnail – this won’t be where it starts playing from, just how it is displayed on the menu.
If the slider is not precise enough, either hold Ctrl whilst moving it, or you can type in the exact frame reference.

September 19, 2006 at 3:08 pmI cannot find this : START TIME. I see MEDIA : thumbnail, masking but not START TIME as you have said. Can you point out specifically where it is?

September 20, 2006 at 1:18 amNot sure which version of DVDA you’re using but …
with DVDA3 and 4, if you click to select a thumbnail button on a menu, there is a panel to the right of the Preview window “Button Properties”
Beneath this are the following tabs: Transformations / Action / Media / Highlight / Navigation / Color Sets
If you select Media you should see: Button Style / Thumbnail Properties / Frame Properties.
Under Thumbnail Properties are Thumbnail Media and Mask, and beneath that Start Time and Style.
Selecting Start Time reveals a down arrow which when clicked produces a slider which can be dragged to change the pic in the Thumbnail.
Any luck?
