hi, I am still new to the world of after effects and I am stil learning. basically I have 3 assets that are in the compositions. All of which are in 3d and different distances from one another. MY question is how do I get the camera using keyframes to zoom in and pan to 1 asset…pause for a couple seconds at that asset and then move to the next asset pause and look at it and so on….What I keep running into is I can’t get the camera to pause, simply what happened is when I set the next keyframe the camera keeps moving. Any help would be great..BTW I LOVE this site soo much information

okay copy the keyframe once it gets to the layer that you want it to pause on, and then paste it at the time where you want the pause to end. since you have two of the same values, the camera won’t move. you will most like have to extend your animation.

You may also like to refer to Aharon’s podcast tutorials here at the Cow on how to avoid the boomerang effect, which is where you get random unwanted movement between two keyframes of the same value. Just go to the podcasts menu and choose AE.
