September 23, 2006 at 11:29 amTo Preview in RAM 20 minutes film (depending of the preview quality) you would need few hundreds or thousand of Gigabytes in your RAM. You must record on disk.
Go to preferences. Memory & Cache. Enable Disk Cache,
Like that the result of the RAM rendering is recorded in your disk and you can preview longer time that with only the RAM capacity.

Guess why it is called RAM preview – it will only show you frames it can squeeze in the available RAM (or memory)and for standard PAL resolution at full quality that usually is no more than 10 seconds on a 2 GB system. You can increas the length to up to a minute if you use quarter preview resolution, but that’s as good as it gets. Render preview clips at half or quarter resolution to disk, if you really need to check anything longer.
