  • How do I get the black off behind the title?

Posted by Elizabeth Jarosz on August 5, 2008 at 3:00 am

I’m new to premiere. I want to use titles. I’ve picked my custom title and entered in the info. When I place it in my timeline, it’s black with the title (I see no video). I searched help but can’t find an answer. I’m sure it’s an easy question. Anyone out there know how to do this?

Are you placing the title over the video clip? When creating the title did you see the video as the background? Did you add a black shape object to the title?

When creating the title I did not see black (saw video underneath).

Yes, I’m dragging the “title” clip over the video. Is this right?

I did not add any black. It happened on it’s own. Not sure why or how.

Thanks for responding. Looking forward to any thoughts / suggestions.

make sure you place the title on a video track above the video, do not drag the title on top of the video, as you will over write the video, and see black as you describe. Remember, Premiere has unlimited video tracks. If you are used to using Movie Maker or iMovie, it is a whole new world for you.
