  • How do I get new video filters to show up?

Posted by Chris Messineo on January 27, 2008 at 10:21 pm

After a few recommendations, I downloaded the free filters Face Light and Vignette from here: https://www.haiku.com.au

I have dropped the two files/filters into this folder: Library\Application Support\Final Cut Pro System Support\Plugins

However, they do not show up in my effects menu. I have rebooted the machine, trashed and restored my preferences – no dice.

Anything else I can try or need to do to get these to work.

BTW, I am running 6.02 – does anyone else have them working in 6.02?

    Thanks a lot,

    Chris

They should appear in the Color Correction sub-menu. They do for me.

    All the best,

    Hi mate,

Just download this two filters and instead of putting them at the system folder I put them at:

    user/library/preferences/final cut user data/plagins.

and I can see them at the effect folder in FCP.

    Cheers

They definitely do not appear there for me.

This is frustrating as I know several people it’s working for, but I seem to be the only one who can’t make it work.

I wish I knew what I was doing wrong or something to try to do to solve it.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried putting them there, but that didn’t work either.

    Very strange and frustrating.

look for the filters in the color correction folder.
    hope you’ll find them there.

If not try this: when you on the browser hold “apple” and F. A find window will open. In the search (bottom right corner) type the filter name and hit Return.

    Good luck.

    Thanks again, but no luck.

I guess, I’m just not meant to use those filters. 🙁
