  • how do I get audio in/audio out?

Being a long suffering PC user I am slowly moving over to MAC. I just can’t seem to input audio and hear it on the mac output.
That is, I connect an audio to the input and set the MAC’s sound control panel correctly and it shows the VU activity to confirm the audio is there. But I just can’t hear it at the analog output even though thats what the setting is set to. I have a G5 powerPC and a new MAC Pro and its the same on both.
I can play sounds in itunes and FCP and hear it fine so I know the output setting is correct for my setup. And before someone says so, yes I know I am and idiot (because its gotta be something so simple!)

What would I do without the ‘UNDO’ button!!!!
