  • How do I get a sequence of effects from after effects into AVID in the right order?

    Hi guys,

I send an h.264 out to my after effects team with a finished episode of a program and they lay a bunch of graphics over top of it. I’m trying to figure out how to put those files in order where they were dropped on the timeline in after effects back in the AVID. There must be some sort of After Effects AAF or link right?

    Thanks

Dave, suggesting PP is better for this is hardly helpful and also not true.

Now Terry do you know ahead of time where in the timeline the effects are going to be placed.
When the GFX come back I’m assuming that they have an Alpha channel and you are laying them on an upper video track in your timelines. If so why not use markers, label them and get the GFX Guys to name there clips the same as your markers are labeled. Also add sequential numbers to each label so everyone knows what order they are supposed to go in.

I may have more suggestions but I need more info about your overall process.
