  • How Do I Embed Moving Footage In A Lower Third

This might be a really simple procedure, but I’m a pretty much a complete After Effects Beginner.

I’m looking to replicate something similar to the moving actors layered over footage in the lower third used heavily to advertise shows on Primetime and Sports games. I’m new to a non-profit where I am helping design and run the video for a live music show. My non-profit is a place called Ethos Music Center that focuses on youth music education and so my boss wants a graphic we can drop in every once and while of a kid playing an instrument. We will be working with a Slate Broadcast Pix soon and I’m trying to design it to work with that system.

    Any and all tips/help appreciated!

Shoot your kid playing an instrument over green screen. Then import that footage and scale it down and position it over the lower third.

Then use Keylight to remove the green.

    Good luck!

Sounds like a a Track Matte is what you need. Check the Help docs on this. Let us know if you need more assistance.
