how do I eliminate black cinema bars in composition?

The layer numbering being weird and the shy switch being on means that there are layers that have been hidden so it’s probably there. That said all those animations seem to be made for that scope aspect ratio so just removing the matte probably won’t help if you want to make it full screen.

You’ll need to precomp the whole thing and scale that to crop out the top and bottom parts of the screen.
