How do I do this?
Posted by John Heimer on August 7, 2013 at 4:11 amI am using the effect “CC Particle World” and I want the birth rate/gravity to increase/decrease according to the audio. Is it possible? If so, how would I do this?

August 7, 2013 at 2:07 pmSelect your audio layer, right click and Keyframe Assistant > Convert Audio to Keyframes. Then you just need to alt+click your Birth Rate of your particle layer and pickwhip it to the newly created audio keyframes. Based on the audio levels, you may need to add some kind of multiplier to your birthrate. So you will end up with something like this:
thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”)*.05

August 8, 2013 at 3:34 amThanks for the wonderful answer! Unfortunately I don’t know how to use the pick whip for an effect, only for layers. How would I use it for a property only (in this case, birth rate)
