  • How do I crop a few scan lines from the top of the screen?

    Hi everyone..

For as long as I can remember, I always get a flicker at the top of the screen when using any ‘soft glow’ effect on my shots. This happens with magic bullet’s soft focus and also if I duplicate the layer, add a blur to the bottom layer and make the top layer 50% opacity.

It also happens to me in After Effects..

Anyways what I need to do is remove the top few scan lines to hide the flicker.

So how do I crop just the top of the screen at track level? In the track motion section I can’t seem to just crop the top down. It wants to ‘constrain aspect’ and crop the sides as well. How do I select to squeeze down just the top part of the shot?

    Thanks ..

Insert a new track over top of your video.
Put black on this track (Generated Media – solid color).
Now use either Pan/Crop or Track Motion to position it accordingly.
This way you don’t have to worry about ‘constrain aspect’ or anything else.

That sounds like a good idea. Thanks. 🙂
