  how do I create an thumbnail grid or matrix in photoshop?

  how do I create an thumbnail grid or matrix in photoshop like a finder window of icons? I have dozens, maybe hundreds and don’t want to do this layout by hand

  Unlike a contact sheet or the finder I don’t want file names – I want the images to be arranged so they are butted together with no space. I’m willing to do this in After Effects if that is best

  Someday I might what to add space between them but not just yet. Any ideas?

  p.s. I know arrange & distribute would tidy up an arrangement but I’d love to fully automate it
