How do I compress the Windows Media Video format to .H264? I’ve seen sample videos of Full HD on microsofts website, compressed in .h264 but with the WMV prefix. How do I do this?

I’ve tried the Microsoft Media Encoder, which failed at resolutions larger than SD, so that’s of no use. I’ve tried Adobe Media Encoder, which didn’t present me with the option to encode in .h264 when I chose Windows Media. And I’ve tried Sorensen Squeeze witch also didn’t give me any options to encode WMV in .h264.

Have I got something wrong? Is the .h264 compression format only for people with magic powers?

Can anyone help me understand since I can’t seem to find any help elsewhere.
