How do I chromakey an object in a video to change colour but preserve luminance?
Hi everybody,
I am hoping some of you will be able to help out with this little problem. What I am trying to do is chromakey an object in a video that is in the foreground. This object is a wooden sphere (painted in the chromakey). I would like to change the colour of this sphere (the hue and saturation) while preserving the luminance (the value).
The sphere is lit naturally and the shading allows for the object to be perceived as a 3D object, which is important for my project. The video footage is essentially the camera looking at this sphere from different perspectives. Thus, the shading changes throughout the video. Creating a mask with normal chromakeying would diminish that perception, as the shading would not be present or it would look unnatural.
Any advice or guidance would be really helpful. I’d be happy to answer any questions should something be unclear. Sorry if this is a noobie question. I’m quite new to all of this. Thanks you!
