How do I capture/use wide & tight shots at an event?
I’m trying to learn to effectively shoot and edit my home movies. An important topic seems to be to use as many tight shots as possible. But how do I use a wide shot to establish the setting and then get to a tight shot without zooming (since zooming is BAD?)?
Does it require two cameras?
For example: My young kids are frequently in school performances. I would like to get a wide shot of all the kids on stage singing a song and then cut to a close up of my kid, but I can’t just cut because I need the audio for the entire song.
Is there a way to handle this?
