  • How do I bring a layer back in front of camera after making it 3D?

Ive got some tracking data in my AE scene (from Boujou) and in order for me to use some of the layers as particles (using particular) I have to make those layers 3D. (Particular gives me the waring about this).

Once I click to enable the layer as 3D, it disappears. At first I thought it was gone, but it actually had moved way below and slightly behind the camera.

How do I get it back in the correct position while keeping it locked to the camera view? Ive tried manually setting it back, but the layer itself doesnt move anywhere now since its 3D.

    Any ideas?

I think that the new Center In View command will do what you’re looking for.

That looks to be a CS4 feature. I forgot to mention im using CS3.

As of now, ive managed to get the footage layer back up in front of the camera and positioned it so its lined up, and parented it to the camera so that it moves when the camera does.

The problem now is that its not tracking right. The particles that this layer is emitting are not staying in place. Im sure this has something to do with the layer being too close to the camera and not positioned correctly in 3D space.
