  • How do I batch render a queue of projects and raw video files?

Hello, I’m using Sony Vegas 7 and enjoying it. My problem at the moment is I can’t seem to find a way to easily batch render multiple projects. I’d like to render both .veg and encode a number of .avi files while I’m sleeping. The closest I’ve come is the Batch Render script included, but that only seems to be able to export a project in multiple formats, not have a *queue* of jobs.

I looked at the Veggie Toolkit which I’ve read about, and it worked ok, but it crashed on me unreliably, and it costs more than I’d like to spend at this point. I also found a free RenderQueue.jpg script for “Vegas 5” but it does’t appear to support batch rendering video files if they’re not part of a .veg project.

I tried a lot of Google searches after this, and still no joy. Does anyone have any pointers that can help light the way for me? I’d be most appreciative. Thank you.

Sounds like you need to take one of the rendering scripts you’ve found and modify it for your own particular use.

I unfortunately am not better at doing this. Wish I was!

Mike Kujbida nicely helped me at another forum with a Vegas section, so I’m going to give that a try. Still, any further advice so I can learn more is always appreciated.

Basically, scripting *IS* your answer. There are many batch rendering scripts out there (some of which you’ve mentioned). However, there may not be one that specifically meets YOUR needs. When that’s the case, you need one written specifically for you. Whether it’s written by you or by someone else is immaterial – it just needs to match what you need.
