  • How can i use parent , but only for position (without rotation)?

Posted by Hanj Baba on August 7, 2007 at 1:46 am

    Hello,
I created a “marionette” – photoshop comp’ of a man with layer for every part of the body.
    I made a simple animation – walking…
the problem is tht I want to attach “strings” (a simple stroke) to some of the layers, so it woud look like a marionette.

is there a simple way to do this ?

    thanks

” How can i use parent , but only for position (without rotation)?”

you need to use expressions … but luckily you don’t actually need to write any .. you can use the pick whip …. select both layers and hit “p” to show position … on the one that will be the “child” alt click on the keyframe button to enable expression … then using the pick whip (the little spiral button) drag it to position on the parent layer. . . done!
