the camera man was on a club-set and filmed some of the dancing people there. Then a laser-beam got cought right into the lens of the xd-cam. After that, four green spots was on all the footage taken after that accident. Now i wonder how i should proceed removing the four artifacts…what would you guys do?

I could upload a still but i don’t know where to put it, anyone have a place for it?

thx for a great forum btw, always read the new post after lunch…

Are they always in the same place ???? If so, I would use the clone paint tool. very quick and very easy. If not, you could make a duplicate of the footage, offset it very slighty in position from the original place it bleow the original in the stacking order, then apply a chroma key to the original. Choose the green of the spot, make it very limited as far as tolerance (you don’t want other things keying) and adjust to taste. My preferred method would be the first one offered.

I believe this is a perfect job for our RE:Fill package. It’s meant for problem s like this. You simply give us a matte that tells the pluginwhere you want the plugin to fill in the bad pixels and the plugin fills in the places for you based on the surrounding good pixels (you have a number of choices for the filling process)

RE:Fill is $99.95. More info here: https://www.revisionfx.com/rfil.htm . A demo version is available in the Downloads subsection for RE:Fill. The manual is places on your disk with the plugins upon installation, so make sure to read it (it’s very short).

    Hi all,

Im trying to remove some lens dust from some shots – so no tracking as such…

ive d/l re:fill demo but even after ive read the documentation i cant figure out how to use it :s

This is due to a) my technical imcompetence b) the fact that the documentation for this software is high on tech specs and internal workings but v low on a simple “how to use” with a couple of screenshots :s

do i apply filter to source footage or adjustment layer? do i create mask layers for my “holes” – well, in fact – how does it work? :s

any help would be appreciated – or if anyone can point me to another solution

It’s all the those pesky details :p
