  • How can I offset audio playback?

Posted by Michael Lansdell on March 5, 2008 at 10:41 am

    Hi,

it’s been ages since I last had to ask you kind Creative Cow folks for help (must be a week, maybe two… !). Anyway, one of our editors is having trouble with audio playback in Final Cut. We know the audio isn’t off within the clip itself, it’s only in playback, so this is a purely cosmetic need. Still, your help would be muchly appreciated.

Does anyone know how to set a user-defined audio playback offset in Final Cut?

    Many thanks,

    Michael

    Hi Michael,
If I’m not wrong, in the System preferences> Playback Control> Frame offset (default: 4) is where you can do that.

As Rafael notes, it’s in the Playback Offset settings. Generally with a capture card you set this to 0. But depending on how you’re monitoring your audio, you might have to shift it from 0 to 4.
