  • how can I install Sony Veg Plat 7.0 on vista?

When I try to install Sony Vegas Platinum Movie Studio plus DVD 7.0 on my new laptop which is running Vista it says I need to install Windows 2000 Service pack 3 or higher. Any thought on what I should do? I don’t want to screw up Vista by installing a Windows 2000 service pack. Thanks in advance for any help.

I myself don’t have Vista or V7, but based on what I read on this forum, I think you need to upgrade to V8, or your laptop downgrade to windows Xp.

    Hi Laszlo,

Vista is kinda tricky when it comes to compatibility issues, having the newest version of any software is probably the safest way to go. When installing older versions the best thing you can do is keep your fingers crossed. I have Vegas 7.0 (Build 192) and it works on my Vista Ultimate (if I disregard a few errors now and then). When Vista came with my new machine I thought about running back to XP, but decided to stick with it anyway and now I got so used to it that I tolerate everything : )
