    >>You wouldn’t want to “heal” a split where a segment was cut out!

Please forgive my ignorance: why is that?

Because you can’t. If a segment of a clip is cut out, there MUST be a split where that cut-out segment used to be.

If you really want a single clip with that segment cut out, you’d need to either render to a new file or use a nested VEG file.

OK, sounds like I’ll be nesting then. Thanks.

….but, what if I don’t want to delete any part nor delete any effects?—(I just want to heal the splice points so that there aren’t so many splice-lines or joints.) ?

    https://www.semw-software.com/en/extensions/

    install the above free extension,
select to 2 events in the timeline track and under edit there is a new option to heal split “event heal” and your done.

    Hi Brad,

    +1 on the SeMW

This is a pretty old thread, probably most are on a newer version. VP15/VP16 have a native heal feature, a bit quicker to use and more power, just for those who may be reading this 2009 thread.

    Best Regards……George

omg George coming in like a chad helping people in the future exactly in my situation with letting us know it got added to later versions.
I’m sitting here at the end of 2024 still using Vegas Pro 14 and boi this would be an awesome feature to natively have, but I can’t(don’t want to) afford a new license of Vegas. So I’ll accept my project-wide split I made and be on my way😂

Thanks man, legit appreciate you coming in years later to cap stuff like this off for us future people.

    Hey Anneka,

If looking at a perpetual licence of a more recent version of following:
    Vegas Pro Edit 21.
    Sound Forge Pro 17.
    Movie Studio 2024 Suite.
    Music Maker 2024 Premium.
    + more

    For the next 12-days, Humble-Bundle has a £ 24 bundle.
    https://www.humblebundle.com/software/vegas-pro-2024-software

Afterwards, if able, head over to MAGIX and upgrade your new Perpetual licence to the latest, or better version (note some of the reductions on sale runs out on the 29th of December)
    https://www.magix.com/us/

(I am NOT affiliated with Humble-Bundle or MAGIX)

    Hope that this helps?
