I’m not a designer or user of inDesign so please bare with me. I’m trying to work with our designers on a new business workflow process which involves exporting various data from mutliple data sources into an XML doc (which itself also goes through some processes) but ultimately goes to inDesign for import. I know all of this is possible but now I’m trying to work out the details.

The biggest issue I have now is trying to get all the pre-fabbed styles that our designers have already created in inDesign and pull them out (export) into some sort of external file that I can reference. What I need to do is build a CSS stylesheet that has similar styles setup so that we can use those same styles in the XML editing process.

The only way I see to do this now would be to literally sit at one of their macs and create the css manually by going through all the designer styles in inDesign one by one… there’s gotta be a better way!

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
