how can I export multiple sequences into one movie?
New to FCP, and I’m not sure I understand Sequences exactly. I’ve been treating each sequence like a scene, and I figured I could easily export all sequences into one movie. I’m having trouble doing that.
Can someone explain to me how to export several sequences into one movie or if that’s not possible, then explain what the point of sequences are? Thanks.

Final Cut allows great flexibility in working.
To combine these scene sequences into one long sequence, there are two basic choices:
Make a new sequence, the open each scene, select all, copy, then paste into the new sequence.
OR
Drag each sequence into the new sequence in order. This is called nesting sequences.
Your choice depends on many factors, especially how your are finishing. There are issues with finishing and exporting lists from nested sequences in a professional workflow.

So if I create 5 sequences, and then a 6th sequence which will hold all the other 5 sequences, does my file double in size or is that not how it works? Thanks for the response.

Try it and find out.
Go to the finder and check your project file size. Then make the new sequence and fill it, then save and check your project file size.
