Hello, I can’t figure out how to cut my object so that I can have a part of it that I can move/rotate? I need to make some kind of a door in my object and animate it but I don’t know how to cut the part I need.

I looked up knife tool tutorials but still didn’t get how to separate part from the “main” obj.

    Here is my object: https://s16.radikal.ru/i190/1107/63/e4878e0f83f4.jpg

    Thanks in advance.

Select the polys you want to copy and right click then choose Split. It will give you a seperate object with just those polys. THen you go back to the original object and delete those polys… they should still be selected. You should then go into point mode and optimize to get rid of the left over points.
