March 17, 2006 at 2:02 amSince the capture over the firewire is digital, just ones and zeroes, and is basically just a file transfer, there is no way to control an analog issue like volume.
If you are capturing analog with a third party device, that is a different issue.

March 19, 2006 at 1:37 amI feel your pain…. There’s many of us who have asked for this same thing.
I’ve rehashed this often before, but if your consumer deck is -10 and your transverter takes -10 to -20 digital, like many of the consumer transverter’s do… and PPRO wants -12 not -10, your already 8db low in audio…..
And you won’t find this out until you capture….. Then you get to do it all over again!!!
I’m not suggesting that PPRO have meters & Scopes available at all times during capture, I’m just suggesting that it be available as a reference point prior to capture, so you know where your level’s are!

Should have said… Transverter outputs -20 PPRO wants -12 so your captured audio is -8db lower than necessary….All were asking for is a way to confirm levels, audio & video, Before the capture, so we can verify correct levels before we capture!!!

March 19, 2006 at 3:47 amJust FYI – Matrox Axio provides monitoring of audio input on capture with PPro, so it can be done 😉
