How can I clean up the edges on this keyed footage?
I have some keyed footage that’s currently HD quality, but I need to zoom in on it.
I’m wanting a silhouette look. I’ve tried various matte chokes, but the edges are still blurry.
The image below explains what I’m wanting to do. I know that my desired look may not be exactly possible, but really need something that’s better than the current look.

I can’t see your example image.
What matte choking tools have you used? Have you tried the Refine matte feature?

I’ve tried Matte Choker and Simple Choker (along with the edge refiners in a few different Keying tools.
The Roto Brush isn’t an option because the footage eventually gets extremely complex (it’s a tree with leaves).

Apparently my network suddenly decided to let me see the image! I can’t explain the vagaries of this system they’re running here…
You might try the Auto Trace feature.However, anything is going to be a bit of a crap shoot at this point. Where did you get this footage from? Is a reshoot an option? Wait…is that a computer generated tree? Why not render it with an alpha and at the proper resolution?
