  • How can I change a blend mode of a shape/mask?

Posted by Adam Dorsz on July 30, 2019 at 12:07 pm

I’m trying to create a simple yellow highlight over some text. I always work with after effects, but this time I have to do it with premiere. In after effects I would draw the shape of my highlight, change its colour to yellow, then change the blend mode to overlay or soft light to get the highlight result.

I’m trying to do the same thing in premiere, but there is no option to change the blend mode of the shape to soft light or overlay. How can I achieve this effect?

    Thanks!

Blend modes are found in the Effect Controls/Opacity.

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately there are no blend modes under effects/opacity.

There are blend modes under effects/opacity for the image itself, but what I’m looking for is blend modes for the shape/mask, not the image.

    Thanks!
