How can I burn a DVD using Premiere Pro that plays on a DVD player?
Posted by Heather Mccaw on April 26, 2013 at 2:31 amI’ve burned DVDs that were created using Premiere Pro and they play on my computer; however, when I go to play them on a regular DVD player, it doesn’t work. I followed a YouTube video on how to burn a DVD using Premiere Pro, but obviously it didn’t work. Can someone give me instructions that will work on a regular DVD player? Thank you for any advice.

April 26, 2013 at 3:02 amPremiere Pro does not burn discs. Are you exporting a video file and burning it directly to a disc? If so then this is the incorrect way to author a compatible DVD.
You need to use Adobe Encore (only installs with Premiere) to author a compatible DVD. This tutorial looks like it’ll cover it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50FmEzktcKA

April 26, 2013 at 1:10 pmWhere do I find the assets? I’ve opened Encore, but I am looking for audio and video file. All I have is the AVCHD video but I don’t know where to look for the audio and video files associated with it.

April 27, 2013 at 2:09 pmHeather it sounds like you’ve got a an AVCHD folder? Is this correct? And you’re looking to create a DVD without editing the files?
If this is so, you’ll find the video files in the following folder structure:
PRIVATE > AVCHD > BDMV > STREAM
Here you’ll find you video files as .MTS files.
You should be able to drag these into the ‘Project’ panel of Encore.
From here you’ll need to make a ‘Timeline’ from the video files and then you can include them in your project.
Hope this helps?

April 27, 2013 at 3:50 pmNo I am editing the videos, adding titles, credits, transitions and I just don’t understand how to burn a dvd after I edited them in Adobe Premiere Pro. Both Adobe Premiere Elements 9 and 11 are able to burn DVDs. Anyways, to resolve my issue, I am just going to take the AVCHD video and save it to a flash drive to play my videos at our club meetings with the Victoria Video Club.

April 30, 2013 at 2:07 pmI’ve tried following that video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50FmEzktcKA First Play link but it’s still not working. I get a couple error messages even after setting my Stop point.
I don’t know how to find the assets to import into Encore, the audio and the MPEG files. All I have are the Premiere Pro files. This is not working for me. I know how to create AVCHD videos using Premiere Pro, but that’s about all. I am just not getting them to burn to DVD.
