  • How can I animate-in wavy text like this? (Video included)

Posted by Javin Ladish on June 26, 2015 at 12:13 am

    Hello everyone,

I’m looking to figure out a way to animate-in text like in the video below:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKTdtysXknw

I’ve tried most of the animated text presets, but there’s no effect that quite gets close to the one in the video.

How might I go about creating this effect easily?

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!

This looks exactly like the default settings from the free AmorType preset from Mattrunks.

    https://mattrunks.com/en/tutorials/after-effects/amortype

Watch the tutorial to see how to control the animation. Its very easy.

You can stack animators, like this example I made: 8977_textexample.aep.zip

Or you can use plugins such as: animation composer Just remember that if a text effect like that ain’t present you’ll have to break your lines into characters everytime.

But essentially you can apply expressions that create that bounciness to position then stagger each letter a few frames. Animate scale and rotation as needed. (like the previous poster suggested)
